Writing: Allow yourself to be patient when you're sick.
I've been feeling under the weather the last couple of days, and I have not liked how it's stalled progress in business and life.
Then this morning I had some medicinal tea and noticed the writing on the tea bag tags.
The first:
"Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished." —Lao Tzu
Then:
"The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn." —Ralph Waldo Emerson
I paused on these morsels of wisdom. (And sneezed.)
I needn't worry about slow days. The genius will return, and I can begin again. Lao Tzu's got my back.
When I do return to my work, it will inspire others. I don't know how. It doesn't matter. It's beyond my control. It may inspire one person or many. And they, inspired, will inspire others. All from a nut like me.
Same is true for you and your writing. Whether it's a novel or narrative nonfiction, a screenplay or short story, a slew of blog posts or quotes on tea bags, when you're writing it, you will inspire.
Maybe you're writing the latest discovery in the health/wellness industry. Or a sci-fi epic so bizarre it inspires a generation of scientists.
It may take time. Allow yourself to be patient.
My mission is to help writers who aim to affect change in the world. If that resonates with you, let's connect and see how I can help.
