PREPARE.
New York is the location of the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US.
It also happens to be the home of the Big 5 publishers, many agents, and other literary folk in traditional publishing.
They are pretty much at a standstill.
They are focusing on helping current author clients and on essential business.
Like somehow publishing, today, a book by Woody Allen, which of course had behind-the-scenes controversy.
Anyway.
It’s been said that every generation has a significant societal or global event to reckon with. This time it’s a pandemic.
Which means we will get through this.
It’s been said that a higher consciousness is blossoming. Just like a seed must be buried into the dirt and must root itself before striving to see the light above the darkness, it can be a challenge to persevere.
So, too, must writers know their mission.
We have been called to write, and we must trust our voice. If you feel buried by rejections, know there is a new world order emerging. That may mean YOU.
Prepare. Root yourself. Stay grounded. Be patient. Strive. Get your manuscript ready. Polish your book proposal. Connect with others.
Use this time to be ready to take on the world.
