How not to sweat the small stuff

Write. Generate. Just keep writing.

Yes, you misspelled a word back there. It’s OK. Or yes, a book proposal sure seems like a lot of work right now.

Just keep going. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

While our writing is all about the small stuff—the words, the sentences—have your mind on the end goal: the fruition of your big idea, the overarching conflict between reader and life, between protagonist and antagonist. Just get it down on the page.

A wall with a missing brick will still stand. For now. A story with no plot will be OK. For now.

A book idea without any solid understanding of how valid it is yet? Even that is fine. For now.

There is a reason why YOU have this book idea. If you choose to take it on, you simply must write it down.

That voice that’s telling you not to do it or coming up with excuses? That’s the small stuff. The small part of you.

Go big. Be daring. Use the voice that you were given.

There is a time and place for perfecting that voice, and channeling your power through consistency, creativity, and care.

When you’re ready, I’ll be here. DM me to have a chat about what you’re working on, and to see how I may help.
