Writing our soul's story, with Jaime Fleres #podcast
I just listened to Episode 9 of A Path to Call Your Own podcast, an interview by Matthew Foley with book coach Jaime Fleres.
As with any trauma, there is a story that tends to latch onto us and we identify with it.
In fact, many in spiritual circles say you must get rid of such stories.
But no, Jaime says. We ARE storytelling creatures.
We can speak our stories, but something interesting happens when we go to the page. Writing it down offers a different container for us.
We get to interface with it in a new way. It creates an otherness, a distance from the story. We can change our relationship to that story.
That’s where we draw our power, by looking at the dark stuff and saying: “I’m in charge now.”
Trust the desires inside you, she says, and believe it’s possible. Even if it scares the crap out of you, go on that hero’s journey. When you say yes to a new life, allies will show up. A new story will be created.
“We need you to be who you are. We need you to come alive. We need all hands on deck.”
